So, you have read through the rules and the information, and are interested in joining. All right! But, before you apply for a character, make sure to check the reserves page first so see if the character you're applying for is open to be applied for. If the character(s) have been reserved, you cannot apply for them until the reserve is up. For this reason, we will not allow challenge applications for reserved characters. But if that character isn't reserved, then have at it!

After checking, there're a few things to keep in mind while working on applications. First, players may only apply for up to 2 people at a time. Also, when applying, please place your application in a comment in this post. You can either link to a post in your character's journal with the application, or split the application up in a multi-comment thread; either way is sufficient. All comments are screened.

Second, all applications will be handled on a first-come-first-served basis, including reserved character. While we know some games give application preference for characters that were reserved, and some tend to skip around in which applications they start on, in the opinion of the mods the results of such a system of approving application can cause some confusion and even some drama (i.e. "Why hasn't my application been checked yet!? You've accepted the six people who applied after me and they didn't reserve!") We've been there, too, and in that respect, first-come-first-served is easier. But, if something does happen to come up in your application which would warrant us to skip it for further review (which will likely be a rare occurrence), we will inform you about it.

Third, anyone who is caught plagiarizing on their application will be given a permanent ban from the game immediately. So please, don't plagiarize. It's unfair to everyone.

Lastly, when writing your application, please keep in mind that we are looking for the following:

Name: The name you'd like to be known as in-game.
Age: Your age. Please keep in mind you must be over 13 to apply. We would like your real age here, please.
Livejournal/Dreamwidth: Your personal Dreamwidth or Livejournal, if you have one. A personal DW or LJ account isn't required to play here!
E-mail: Your e-mail.
IM/Plurk: If you have a screen name on any instant messaging program (AIM is preferable, but any other IM program screen name is also fine), or a plurk, you may put that info here.
Other Characters in Game: Only applies if you have other characters in the game already.

Character Name: The name of the character you're applying. Please include any aliases or secret identities which may come with it.
Canon: The canon your character comes from.
Canon Point: The point in your character's canon that they come from. Do they come from just before chapter 1, or after the epilogue, or somewhere in between?

Personality:This is an incredibly important section. This is the section which allows us to see whether you understand your character's motives, thoughts, beliefs, and so on. We'd like to see a minimum of 250 words, but keep in mind that we are looking for quality over quantity. So please try and keep word-padding to a minimum. :)

History: A link to a sufficiently-informative wiki will suffice for this! Otherwise, if your character's wiki doesn't have much info on it, 250 words or more. Remember, quality over quantity!

Abilities: We'd like any and all skills and abilities your character possesses. This includes both normal (super smart, good cook, knows kung fu) and, yes, the abnormal as well (has the X-gene, has magic abilities, can summon a familiar, understands animals).

Strengths: Basically anything that doesn't fit under the abilities section. Is your character willful? Are they a loyal friend? Are they unafraid of challenges?
Weaknesses: Is your character scared easily? Do they have an illness which causes problems for them? Do they get easily distracted? Obsessed? Angry?

Kept Power: Characters are now allowed to keep one power, at 25% strength. Describe here which power you are keeping and why. Please, no powers that could destroy the world or cause massive damage!

First Person Sample: A sample that you would post for your character in the main community,

konran. It can be your character's first post, or a post about something in the city, or your family NPC. We'd like to see how your character is played in regards to their reactions to what is happening around them. Anything is game as long as the sample takes place in the city. We would like to see at least 100 words for this sample.
Third Person Sample: A sample that you would post for your character in the main community,

konranlog. Basically an action post in the third person, which shows depth regarding the character's thoughts, motivations, and reactions. It can be about anything so long as it takes place in the city. We would like to see at least 250 words for this sample.

Password: Thaaaat's right. There's a two-word password for this game, and the words are hidden somewhere in these mods post. This is to make sure you've read through the mod posts before you applied. Anyone who does not put the passwords in will be asked to revise their applications before they are accepted.
